The Elantas 119485 is a liquid peroxyester free-radical polymerization initiator.

Instructions for Use
ELAN-Plus™ C 8 Catalyst should be added at room temperature to styrene or vinyl toluene based unsaturated polyester resins.
Typical addition is 1.0 – 2.0% based on resin weight exclusive of filler. C 8 should be added to the resin when the resin is placed into service.
Unsaturated polyester resin systems are sensitive to heat and aging. They require monitoring and adjustment to prevent premature gelation.
Transportation / Storage
Store below 25°C / 77°F in a dry, controlled environment, out of direct sunlight. This material should be suitable for use stored under these conditions in the original sealed containers for twelve (12) months from the date of shipment.
ELAN-Plus™ C 8 Catalyst is a strong oxidizing agent. Storage areas should conform to applicable regulations for the storage of peroxides. Product will tolerate temperatures up to 38°C / 100°F, but refrigerated storage at 10°C / 50°F is preferred.
- Medium temperature initiator (typical 135 – 163°C / 275 – 325°F)
- Provides 1 – 3 months stability in catalyzed resin systems at 25°C/(77°F) or below with appropriate monitoring and adjustment
- Appearance: Colorless to slightly yellow
- Weight per Gallon: 8.6 – 8.8 lbs.
